Esther McDowell Childers went home with Jesus on Jan. 9, 2011, at the home of her daughter, Janice Littleton (Terry) in Prattville where she lived.

She was the last of 14 children to pass of Anna McDowell Wells of Clanton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Childers; her son, Gene; two daughters, Sonya Coggins (Marion) and Shirley Boswell (David); and one great grandson, Trevor Ryan Littleton.

She is survived by her daughter, Janice; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren.

She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and a great Christian lady. She will be greatly missed by all her family and church family (Hunting Ridge Church of God).

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 12 from Prattville Memorial Chapel at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Steve Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Skipperville in Peniel Church Cemetery at 2 p.m.
