Chilton County may get another chance of snow this weekend.

The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement Jan. 6, saying “confidence is increasing” in the event of winter weather across central Alabama.

“While winter weather is a rarity across the Southern states, this winter has been anything but normal,” the statement read.

NWS said wintry precipitation, including snow, could start as early as Sunday morning in southwest Alabama and spread across central Alabama during the day Sunday.

The winter weather is expected to last through Monday.
