William Hershel Hamilton, 91, of Clanton died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011.

He was born Thursday, July 17, 1919, in Chilton County, son of the late J.W. (Willie) Hamilton and the late Ida Dobbs Hamilton.

He was a farmer.

Surviving are his wife, Lois Hamilton of Clanton; daughter, Sandra (Allen) Cooedy of Clanton; three grandchildren, Keith (Sara) Cooedy of Jemison, Kelly (Martin) Willis of Clanton and Rebecca (John) Logan of Clanton; great grandchildren, James, Rachael, Leah Logan; sister-in-law, Rose Hamilton of Mississippi; two nieces, Marcia (Gary) Sovenign of Mississippi and Fara Zaleski of Montgomery; three nephews, Mike (Terri) Payne of Montgomery, Richard (Carolyn) Payne of Montgomery and Chris Payne of Montgomery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J. W. (Willie) and Ida Hamilton; daughter, Debbie Ridgeway; sister, Marietta Payne; and brothers, Lecil and Cecil Hamilton.

Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 6 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Friday, Jan. 7 at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Griffin officiating.

Interment will follow in Highland Baptist Cemetery.
