IHS wins on last-second shot

Austin Haigler’s last second put back on Friday gave Isabella’s boys team a 63-61 win at Billingsley.

Haigler, a senior, caught a 3-point shot attempt that failed to hit the rim and then scored the winning basket. He led the Mustangs (1-5, 1-1 area) with 21 points and nine rebounds.

Junior Sawyer Cahalane contributed 19 points and seven rebounds.

Billingsley junior Alex Tyus led the Bears (1-5, 0-2) with 26 points, and classmate Carlos Caver had 20 points.

Isabella’s girls teams also won, 49-26.

Senior Amber Wyatt paced the Mustangs (5-1, 1-1) with 13 points and seven rebounds.

Whitney Smith, a senior, had 12 points and six rebounds, and junior Allison Mims stole the basketball five times.

Freshman Madison Price led Billingsley (1-4, 0-2) with 13 points.
