Verbena’s boys and girls teams fell to 0-2 in area play with losses on Friday at Notasulga.

The boys lost, 66-36, and the girls fell, 46-31, though they were down only five points, 21-16, at halftime.

Marqueska Deramus led the Verbena girls (3-6) with 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Lakeyn Edwards had 10 points, and Lacey Short was good for seven points.

For the boys (1-5), T.J. Ray had 15 points, and Marquez Deramus scored 10 points.

Fred Wright had six points.
