William Dan ‘Pete’ Sheffield

William Dan “Pete” Sheffield, 66, of Plantersville and formerly of Marion died Nov. 18, 2010 at his home.

Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 21 with Bruce LeVan presiding. Interment was at Ivey’s Chapel Church Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Nov. 20 at Kirk Funeral Home’s Marion Chapel.

Survivors include three daughters, Danie Nichols of Plantersville, Andrea Davis of Clanton and Ramona Cook of Concord, Ga.; two sons, Robert Sheffield of Plantersville and Andrew Sheffield of Sprott; sister, Polly S. Henderson of Stuttgart, Ark.; brother, George Avery of California; 18 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Robert Lee, Herbert Smith, Eddie Edwards, Allen Keener, Ray Cleckler, Hunter Brooks, Noland Bramlett and Jason David.

Sheffield was born on Nov. 11, 1944, to Robert and Decima Morris Sheffield, who also preceded him in death.

He was preceded by his sisters and brothers, Fannie Sealy, Ola Mae Bolar, Floyd Sheffield, Robert E. Sheffield, John Avery, James Avery, Nancy Avery and Inez Avery.
