William Howard Hayes

A memorial service for William Howard Hayes will be held Saturday, Nov. 13 at 10:30 a.m. in the Sardis Baptist Church cemetery on Chilton County Road 15. The Rev. William Earl Short will lead the service. Everyone is invited.

Howard, the son of the late Marzelle (Mims) Hayes and Howard Clay Hayes, was born Dec. 13, 1939. After suffering a stroke, he passed away on Oct. 14, 2010.

Howard grew up in the Sardis community and graduated from Isabella High School in 1958. He served four years in the U.S. Coast Guard and married Charlotte Edwards of the Poole’s Crossroads area of

Chilton County. Charlotte and Howard have a daughter, Staci, and a granddaughter, Lily. He is survived by all three.

Deceased siblings: Mary Newman, Frank Hayes and Ruby Harding.

Surviving siblings: Betty Robinson, Peggy Crawford, Jo Ann Ricks, Harry Hayes, Robert Hayes, Jane Gore and Garry Hayes.
