Odell Varden Heflin

Odell Varden Heflin, 88, of Jemison died Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, at Hatley Health Care in Clanton.

She was born Tuesday, Aug. 22, 1922, in Chilton County, daughter of the late Tom Robinson and the late Dovie Davis Robinson.
She was a seamstress.

Surviving are her daughter, Debra (Richard) Minor of Clanton; three sons, Jimmy Dale (Joyce) Varden of Foley, Johnny Keith (Penny) Varden of Rockford and Gregory Lyndon Varden of Clanton; two step-sons, James (Sherry) Heflin of Clanton and Bobby Gerald “Cooter” (Lisa) Heflin of Clanton; step-daughter, Judy (Eugene) Wyatt of Palm City, Fla.; 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Eloyse Marcus of Birmingham and Wanda Foshee of Clanton; and brother, Kent Robinson of Clanton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Heflin; grandson, Quinton Varden; brother, Bill Robinson; brother, David Robinson; sister, Eileen Hicks; sister, Gladys Adams; sister, Dorothy Conway; and sister, Thomasine Piper.

Services were held Sunday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donald Vanderslice officiating.

Interment will follow in Mt. Bethel Baptist Cemetery in Clanton.
