James Harold Pyron, 76, of Clanton died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, in Montgomery.

He was born Wednesday, Nov. 8, 1933, in Chilton County, son of the late David Malcolm Pyron and the late Annie Cowart Pyron.

He retired in 1988 as the assistant postmaster with the U.S. Postal Service in Clanton.

Surviving are daughter, Lori (Tim) Thompson of Montgomery; stepson, Jeff (Teri) Higgins of Clanton; and uncle, Bill (Colleen) Cowart of Montgomery.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Johnson Pyron.

Friends will be received from 11:30 to 12:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at Martin Chapel.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, Oct. 30 at 1 p.m. at Martin Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Melton Short officiating.

Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton.
