Not much goes right for Bears

Things started going wrong for Billingsley early in Friday’s 47-0 loss to American Christian.

The Bears (2-5, 2-3) were driving on their first possession when, on a 4th down with 8 yards to go for a first down, an interception was returned 85 yards for an ACA score with 6:23 remaining in the first quarter.

Billingsley fumbled on its next possession, and on the next play American Christian (6-1, 5-0) scored on a 45-yard pass.

The Patriots held a 35-0 halftime lead, and the first play of the second half was a 63-yard touchdown run.

The homestanding Bears threw one interception and lost three fumbles.

BHS junior Reggie Browder provided a bright spot, rushing for 103 yards on 23 carries.
