Lauren Guy, a junior health and fitness education major from Jemison, will be competing in the Miss Troy University Pageant on Oct. 9.

Guy’s talent will be a jazz dance entitled “Let’s Get Loud” and her platform is “Let’s Move,” which centers on childhood obesity.

“As an aspiring teacher, the Miss America Pageant gives a social foundation for my personal growth,” she said. “The Miss America program is relevant and adds additional bonus to help me on my life’s journey.”

At Troy, she is Social Sorority Pledge Class President and Website Coordinator, and a Troy University Cheerleader. She is the recipient of the Sam Walton Community Service Scholarship.
