Bears win region game at R.C. Hatch

Sophomore Matt Prebula scored three touchdowns on Friday as Billingsley won at R.C. Hatch, 28-12.

Junior Reggie Browder was the first player to score for the Bears (2-4, 2-3 Class 2A, Region 4), when he recovered a fumble and ran it back 44 yards for a score with 9:03 remaining in the first quarter.

Browder also ran in the 2-point conversion, and BHS led 8-0.

Prebula scored on a 1-yard run with 7:41 remaining in the second quarter, but the point-after try failed.

Prebula recorded another touchdown run with 44 seconds remaining in the first half. His second scoring run was from three yards out.

R.C. Hatch (2-4, 3-3) got on the scoreboard with 4:13 left in the third quarter. Their PAT failed.

Prebula scored his third touchdown with 2:38 remaining in the game on a three-yard run.

Sophomore Devon Hardy ran in the 2-point conversion to bring the score to 28-6.

R.C. Hatch added a touchdown with 1:23 remaining in the game.

Prebula rushed 27 times for 94 yards.

Browder ran the football 19 times and gained 105 yards.

Junior A.J. Tyus led the defense with six tackles. He also had a sack and a fumble recovery.

Torrey Green, a sophomore, intercepted two passes for the visitors.
