Christian Coston’s 16-yard run was the only scoring Verbena (0-4, 0-3 Class 1A, Region 3) could muster on Friday in a 47-6 loss at Loachapoka.

Verbena fumbled on its first play from scrimmage, and Loachapoka ran it back for a touchdown. The hosts also ran an interception back for a TD later in the game.

Coston led the team in rushing with 51 yards.

Garrett Dennis was the leading tackler with eight stops. Kelly Dorsett, Tyler Easterling, Brady Pope and Crayton Taylor all had five tackles. Pope also had a sack.
