The completion of a project to repave the public boat launch at Higgins Ferry Park on Lake Mitchell has been delayed, according to Park Ranger Frank Atkinson.

The launch remains open, but could be closed at some point next week while workers complete the project, which is being handled by the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

With no firm completion date available, Atkinson said the decision about when to close the ramp will be handled on a day-to-day basis.
