Richard Wayne Jones, 77, of Clanton died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010.

He was born Tuesday, Sept. 27, 1932, in Chilton County, son of the late William Jasper Jones and the late Lillie Mae Dupree Jones.

He was a retired train master with Norfolk Southern Railroad.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret Jones of Clanton; three daughters, Regina (Mike) Lind of Nashville, Tenn., Sharon (Randy) Nelms of Oneonta and Wendy (Bob) Green of Huntsville; son, Richard (Marianne) Jones II of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Sharon (John) Beutler of Verbena and Trudie (Roger) Jones of Deatsville; three brothers, Douglas (Lois) Jones of Gardner, Ill., Gilbert (Ann) Jones of Palos Clark, Ill. and Ken (Karen) Jones of Montgomery; 13 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 5 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Friday, Aug. 6 at 10 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Burns officiating. Interment will follow in Chestnut Creek Bapt. Cemetery in Verbena.
