Thorsby High School alumni Adam Justin Allen received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.

Allen is the son of John and Joshlynn (Josh) Allen of Clanton and the grandson of John W. Sr. and Sarah Allen of Thorsby and the late Allen C. and Bernice Atchison of Jemison.

During his academic career at Thorsby, Allen received many recognitions; he was selected Mr. THS, Beta Club president, a senior class officer, member of HOSA, president of the school’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Spanish Club member, FFA member and Student Council Representative. Allen was also a HOBY and Boys State nominee.

Allen said his college career has been a long, hard road, but through determination and dedication, this road ends with a victory. One of his favorite college memories will be being selected as a youth tutor and mentor. Through the program, Allen was able to help high school students with their academics as well as mentoring young boys on the struggles of growing up.

Allen said his Doctor of Pharmacy degree must be shared with God, his parents, John and Josh Allen; his sister, Kayla Allen; Grandma Bernice; and family because they paved the way for his success.

Allen would like to thank Thorsby High School Principal Russ Bryan along with the teachers and staff, Pastor Irvin Williams and The Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church family, the late Sam Bentley, Bess Bentley and the Bentley family, Sonny Sharman, Belva Johns and the First United Methodist Church for their belief and support.
