Following a recommendation from the city’s planning commission, the Clanton City Council voted to deny a rezoning request. The request had been made to rezone 308 Thrash Road from R-1 to B-2 .

The council also voted in their brief meeting Monday to send Clanton Police Chief Brian Stilwell and Technology Officer Neil Fetner to a conference July 12-16 in Oklahoma City.

A technology grant the department received will pay for the cost of the conference, Stilwell said at the meeting.
