Fourteen years ago, Maplesville’s baseball team pounded out 24 hits and three home runs—off the bats of Larry Colburn, Jody Davis and Josey Shannon—in two five-inning games to defeat Madison Academy 13-3 and 12-2 in a best-of-three series for the Class 1A state championship.
