Clanton Police detectives have arrested one suspect in the Sunday robbery of the Little Mexico store on Seventh Street.

Abelardo Castillo Sifuentes, 30, of Prattville was arrested Monday and charged with robbery and theft of property.

A description of the suspect’s car led police to a trailer park in Prattville, where the vehicle was found and Sifuentes was arrested.

Two Hispanic males wearing ski masks entered the store around 8:20 p.m. Sunday, demanding money, according to Clanton Police Chief Brian Stilwell. One of the suspects carried a handgun.

The men left in a 1988 Oldsmobile Delta with Autauga County plates. The word “power” was written on the back of the car.

“The business owner was able to safely provide our officers with very valuable information that led us to the vehicle,” said Lt. Keith Maddox.

Stilwell said Clanton Police have solid leads on a second suspect.

Maddox thanked Prattville Police for their help with the case.
