The Chilton County YMCA will hold its Strong Kids Campaign Bike Ride on May 15 starting at 9 a.m. in Clanton and finishing at Paul M. Grist State Park in Selma.

The entry fee is $25 per motorcycle and $35 for double riders.

The YMCA Strong Kids Campaign provides financial assistance for children in Chilton County to allow them to attend YMCA programs and camps. The assistance is based on household incomes of the children’s homes. Contributions are tax deductible.

Chilton County YMCA director Rachel McKinnon said the program raises money so that the local branch can provide scholarships to low-income families and individuals who are not financially able to pay the full portion of either childcare, program or membership fees.

“The Strong Kids bike ride is important because it brings the community together to help raise funds to support the children of Chilton County,” McKinnon said. “We are looking forward to the bike ride, and we expect to have a fun day.”
