Family walks to stop drunk driving

The fourth-annual Walk Like MADD (Mother’s Against Destructive Decisions) will be held Saturday, May 15 from 9 a.m. until noon at the Montgomery Zoo.
The family of Jessica Jones will participate for the second consecutive year.
Walk Like MADD is a 5K, non-competitive walk that teams up corporations, organizations, schools and individuals to keep roadways safe and education students about the dangers of alcohol. Each walker is asked to raise at least $100 for MADD.
Jessica’s family say they walk to honor their loved one and hopefully make sure other families don’t suffer the same loss.
“She was compassionate and had such gentle, loving and caring ways. She was very smart, artistic and worked hard to achieve what she wanted. She will be remembered for having so many good qualities in her short life. She will also be remembered as losing her life because of a drunk driver.”
Anyone interested in learning more about Jessica’s MADD team or making a donation should contact team captain Patsy Roper at 334-366-2001 or Deborah Jones at 334-366-4616.
