Joe Earl Gibson, 65, of Clanton died April 13, 2010 at his residence.
He was born March 17, 1945, in Chilton County, son of the late Melvin M. Gibson and the late Viola Noah Gibson.
Joe was in heavy construction of power plants.
Surviving are his children, Jackie (Wanda) Day, Eddie (Kim) Day, Johnny (Wanda) Day, Brenda (John) Wotten, Allen Day; brother, Billy (Dorothy) Gibson; sister, Sue (Artis) Moten; 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margarette Gibson; father, Melvin M. Gibson; mother, Viola Gibson; brother, Robert Gibson; and sisters, Christine Hayes, Dorothy Barron, Carolyn Gibson and Ruby Nell Gibson; and grandchild, Shani Day.
Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Clanton Church of God. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will follow at Chilton Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Billy Ray Boatwright officiating.
