Tiffany Guin hit a two-run home run and pitched two innings, allowing two runs.

Brandi Baker, one of the Jemison seniors who had never beaten the Bulldogs before, pitched the last five innings in relief and held Montevallo to one run.

Jemison coach Leighsa Robinson called Baker’s performance her best at the varsity level.

The Panthers’ doubleheader against Bibb County on Thursday will determine who will host the area tournament.

Also, Jemison will host the annual Panther Classic on Saturday, featuring four teams, six games and fish and barbecue plates for sell to benefit Jemison softball.
