Jake Long and Andrew Morton clinched important sectional seeding on Tuesday as Jemison’s boys and girls tennis teams took decisive victories against Brewbaker Tech at Alabama State University.

The Panther boys won, 8-1, and the girls won, 9-0.

Long and Morton clinched the No. 1 spots in No. 6 and No. 5 singles, respectively, and No. 3 doubles for the sectional tournament. Both are unbeaten on the season.

The boys team has a collective 8-1 record.

The girls are now 4-5, and Tuesday’s winners included: Ashley Gothard, Jessica Swindle, Brooke Bice, Anna Davenport, Brittany Bryant, Macey Thompson and the doubles teams of Gothard and Bice, Swindle and Bryant, and Davenport and Thompson.
