March 25: Business After Hours will be held at Magnolia Rose Bistro and Donut Café, 212 Alabama Highway 191, Jemison, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. A ribbon cutting will take place at 5 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Chilton County Chamber of Commerce.

March 27: Petals from the Past will host a free course on managing citrus in the home garden and patio. Dr. Arlie Powell will discuss variety selection and care of citrus such as lemons, kumquats, limes and satsumas. Lunch is available for $10 (please call in advance). March 27: Burning Bush Church at 11659 County Road 51 in Jemison will host a benefit singing for Relay for Life beginning at 6 p.m. Singers will include local talent and Sounds of Faith with special guests The Waylighters Quartet.

March 28: Oak Grove Baptist Church in Jemison will have an Easter program — including an Easter egg hunt, singing and dinner-beginning at 10:30 a.m. Everyone is invited.

April 1: The Chilton County Chamber of Commerce will host a noon luncheon with Sen. Jeff Sessions as the guest speaker at the Clanton First United Methodist Helen Parrish Activity Center.

Free GED classes: The Wallace Community College-Selma Adult Education Program is hosting free GED classes at Helen Jenkins Chapel in Thorsby and at the Maplesville Depot Tuesday and Thursday from 5-8 p.m. Classes are also held in Clanton, at 1114 Fifth Ave. N. (behind Martin Funeral Home) Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon and from 5-8 p.m. For more information, call (334) 876-9369.

Gift shop: The Chilton Medical Center Auxiliary gift shop is a non-profit store inside Chilton Medical Center that features a variety of gifts. They have teddy bears, toys, purses, jewelry and even Happy Home flavoring. All proceeds go toward scholarships and various charities.
