Devils fall to Fultondale
Verbena’s softball team lost to Fultondale, 14-5, on March 5, but coach Jennifer Ingram still looks forward to a successful season.
“I have high expectations for this year’s team,” Ingram said. “As soon as we settle down and play up to our potential, I think that we will surprise some teams.”
Mattie Cleckler went 3-for-4 in the game with two runs scored.
Chanin Hancock, Brandy Driver and Ashlie Shiers all had hits and at least one RBI.
Hancock suffered the loss though she struck out five batters while pitching a complete game.
