Red Devils top Thorsby in nine innings

Maplesville’s softball team won at Thorsby on Thursday, 11-5 in nine innings.

The score was 4-4 after regulation and was nodded at 5 after eight innings, but the Red Devils (2-0) scored six runs in the top of the ninth.

Kortisha Morrow hit a triple with the bases loaded, Morgan Little followed with a hit to score Morrow, and then winning pitcher Courtney Killingsworth hit a two-run home run.

Killingsworth allowed the hosts (1-1) six hits.

Tiffany Morgan had three of those hits, and Nicole Barrett had two.
