Tornado sirens to sound Wednesday
Chilton County Emergency Management Agency director Bill Collum said tornado sirens will sound at 9 a.m. on Wednesday as part of the National Weather Service’s Severe Weather Awareness Week.
The sirens will serve area schools during tornado drills to help teach students and educators about what to do during a weather emergency.
Collum said the drill is a good opportunity for people to understand what actions to take once severe weather hits.
In the case of severe weather this Thursday, which Collum said is not expected, the scheduled drill time will change.
