Helen Louise Bates, 80, of Clanton died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at Chilton Medical Center in Clanton.
She was born Wednesday, June 26, 1929, in Chilton County, daughter of the late Tommy Mims and the late Lena Ellis Billingsley Mims.
She was a storeowner.
Surviving are her two daughters, Mrs. Shirley (Randall) Gilliland of Clanton and Mrs. Peggy (Jimmy) Jones of Clanton; son, Mr. James Earl Bates of Clanton; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Owens of Clanton and Mrs. Faye Ward of Clanton; three brothers, Mr. Jimmy Mims of Mississippi, Mr. Jackie Mims of Alabaster and Mr. Ronald Mims of Clanton; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 11 a.m. at Providence Baptist No. 2 with the Rev. Glenn Bonds, the Rev. Jimmy Jones and the Rev. Tony Smitherman officiating.
Interment will follow in Providence No. 2 Baptist Cemetery, .
