County under Winter Storm Watch
Chilton County, along with 21 other counties in Central and South Alabama, is under a Winter Storm Watch.
The watch is in effect from late Thursday through Friday afternoon. Forecasts call for 1 to 3 inches of snow accumulation.
Snow will likely start falling after midnight Friday morning across western parts of Alabama and quickly move across central Alabama. Snow will taper off from West to East on Friday afternoon.
The National Weather Service advises people in and near the watch area to take precautions and prepare for possible snow accumulation on Friday.
Counties under the Winter Storm Watch include Sumter, Greene, Hale, Perry, Bibb, Chilton, Coosa, Tallapoosa, Chambers, Marengo, Dallas, Autauga, Lowndes, Elmore, Montgomery, Macon, Bullock, Lee, Russell, Pike and Barbour.
