Community calendar for Feb. 10

Feb. 12: Chilton Medical Center will host a Mardi Gras lunch to benefit Relay for Life. The lunch will consist of red beans and rice, gravy and sausage, cracker salad, crusty bread and king cake. Cost per plate is $6. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Feb. 13: The North Chilton Brotherhood will have a pancake and sausage breakfast in the Jemison First Baptist fellowship hall from 8 to 10:30 a.m. The breakfast is a fundraiser to help support the brotherhood’s outreach ministry. Plates are $5 apiece.

Feb. 13: A benefit gospel singing will be held at the Central Alabama Gospel Music Barn on County Road 29 near Jemison at 5 p.m. Donations will benefit PEECH, or the Chilton Education Foundation. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m.

Feb. 16: Anyone who is interested in becoming a volunteer for a disaster team in Chilton County will benefit from attending an informative meeting on Feb. 16 at 6 p.m. in the Chilton Medical Center cafeteria. Volunteers can be retired nurses, teachers, housewives or anyone over the age of 16. For more information, call Vanessa McKinney at 280-3346.

Feb. 26: Chilton Medical Center will have a uniform sale from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the Home Health Breezeway. The sale will be conducted by Uniforms 2 u 2.

Feb. 27: Rocky Mount United Methodist Church in Jemison will hold its Convention-Type Singing at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will follow.

Tuesdays and Thursdays: A medication assistance representative will be available from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Thorsby Library inside Thorsby City Hall. Anyone 55 or older or Social Security disabled of any age with no prescription coverage or the in Medicare Part D coverage gap may qualify for help paying for prescription medications.
