From staff reports

Dianne Childress recently retired from Regions Bank after 32 years of dedicated service. Her retirement became official on Dec. 31.
At Dianne’s request, she did not want a reception, tea or open house in her honor.  Dianne’s words were that she “simply wanted to fade away.”  But fading away is not something that Dianne can easily do as far as customers or coworkers are concerned.  Customers loved her caring and kindness. She always remembered the shut-ins with a card, the new babies with a small gift and the newlyweds with a small token to begin their marriage.
She was a whiz at memorizing numbers. Coworkers were known to use her as a “talking phonebook,” and customers continually relied on her memory for their account number.  Her absence at Regions will not easily be filled.
Being an active member and pianist of Oak Grove Baptist Church will keep her busy as will her family. She is also the biggest fan of her grandson, Austin Childress, the lead singer for Christian rock band Thalon. Her family also includes: son, Kyle Childress, of California; son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Lesia Childress; grandchildren, Katelyn, Zack, Austin, Camille and Isabella; and late daughter, Kristy.
