J.E. Burnett, 75, of Clanton died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at Chilton Medical Center in Clanton.
He was born Monday, June 25, 1934, in Alabama, son of the late William Edgar Burnett and the late Maybelle Smitherman Burnett.
He was a superintendent.
Surviving are his wife, Marlene Burnett of Clanton; four daughters, Debra Goodwin of South Carolina, Rita Burnett of Clanton, Regeana Watts of Cullman and Crystal Levertte of Verbena; four sons, Ronnie (Brenda) Burnett of Clanton, Jayson (Margaret) Burnett of Carbon Hill, Brian (Carol Ann) Rager of Clanton and Wesley (Krysta) Rager of Maplesville; two brothers, Billy (Shirley) Burnett of Clanton and Samuel (Elizabeth) Burnett of Remlap; sister, Martha Jean Clark of Clanton; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, William Edgar Burnett and Maybelle Burnett; daughter, Linda Gainey; brother, James Edgar Burnett; sister, Mary Elizabeth McKee; and sister, Polly Nance.
Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 9 at 11 a.m. at Jackson’s Chapel Church with the Rev. Tony Burnett officiating. Interment will follow in Jackson’s Chapel Cemetery in Clanton.
