After an eventful and exciting year, Lucile McFarland will soon be passing on the title to a new Ms. Senior Chilton County.

“I could not be more pleased with how well Lucile has represented the county from competing in Ms. Senior Alabama, speaking to local seniors through out the county, meeting Attorney General Troy King, and even meeting Governor Bob Riley,” said pageant director Wes Gandy. “At every event she has presented herself as every young lady in Chilton County would hope to at her age.

“I have received accolades from all that she has encountered and can only hope that 2010 Ms. Senior Chilton County may have half her enthusiasm and compassion.”

The time has come for any women 60 and older who would like to participate in an experience of a lifetime to fill out her applications.

The pageant is broken down into three major parts — interview, talent, and philosophy/evening wear.

Applications may be obtained at www.msseniorchiltoncounty.com or by contacting Gandy at (205) 299-2808. Applications will be due in no later then Jan. 22, 2010 by 5 p.m.

“A day of nervousness is a very small price to pay for a year of opportunities that make memories and friends for the rest of your life,” Gandy said.

Both McFarland and Gandy are available to speak to any women’s group who would be interested in more information on this competition.

There will be an informative meeting Jan. 29 for all women who plan on competing for the 2010 title and a farewell dinner in honor of McFarland in February.

Tickets may be obtained through any 2010 contestants, 2010 Ms. Senior Chilton County board members, or Gandy.

All proceeds will go to the Ms. Senior Chilton County Pageant System and to help with cost that the 2010 Queen may incur during her reign.
