Funeral service for Brenda Kaye Skinner, age 65, of Oxford will be Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at 1 p.m. at Striffler-Hamby Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Hilyer officiating. Burial will follow in Park Hill Cemetery (Columbus, Ga.). The family received friends Sunday, Jan. 3 from 4-6 p.m. at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs and on Wednesday, Jan. 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Striffler-Hamby Funeral Home (Columbus, Ga.).
Mrs. Skinner passed away Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Columbus, Ga. and a resident of Oxford, Ala. for the past 10 years and was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jerry L. Skinner of Oxford; one daughter, Kristin Ashley Skinner of Pewaukee, WI; two sons, Rik Barfield and his wife, BJ of Jefferson City, MO and Trae Barfield and his wife, Nancy of Verbena; a sister, Judy Hammock; two brothers, Charles Barnes and Terry Barnes; four grandchildren, Nick Barfield, Lauren Rowland, Courtney Patrick and Noah Barfield; two great-grandchildren, Amelia Patrick and Demar Rowland; and several nieces and nephews.
