Effie Lee Baker, 90, of Clanton died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at Wetumpka Health and Rehab in Wetumpka.
She was born Saturday, Oct. 25, 1919, in Chilton County, daughter of the late William Elijah Thomas and the late Delilah C. Moates.
She was a waitress.
Surviving are her two sons, Clarence Baker of Clanton and Glenn (Lois) Baker of Clanton; four daughters, Vera Nell (Billy) Knight of Billingsley, Voncile (Jack) Wyatt of Clanton, Emma Jean Moore of Billingsley and Kathy (Jimmy) Farris of Clanton; daughter-in-Law, Kathy Baker of Clanton; 23 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a host of great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Baker; two sons, Buddy and Jimmy Baker; one daughter, Ruby Powell; granddaughter, Linda Giles; and great-granddaughter, Mandy Baker.
Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, at Martin Funeral Home.
Services will be held Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Providence No. 2 Baptist Cemetery in Clanton. Martin Funeral Home directing.
