Tigers get back on track

The Tigers couldn’t afford to start a three-game losing streak—in one week.
Chilton County High’s boys basketball team on Friday defeated Chelsea, 68-47, after losing to both Selma and Briarwood earlier in the week.
“Hopefully, we figured out that defense is what will help us out, and we played better defense tonight,” coach Donnie Hand said.
Hand also said his team shot better and benefitted from strong rebounding performances by Taylor Hughes and Darnell Spear.
The Tigers (2-2) had shown flashes, though. They fell behind 24-0 against Briarwood but closed the gap to two points in the fourth period before eventually losing.
On Friday, Hughes led all scorers with 23 points. He also had a team-high 12 rebounds.
Nelson Williams scored 10 points, and Spear grabbed 11 boards.
