The Chancel Choir of Clanton First United Methodist Church will bring the sounds of the holiday to the community with “Let There Be Light, A Christmas Choir Celebration” Dec. 12 in the Helen E. Parrish Activity Center on the church campus.

The program will be presented twice on the same evening, once at 5 p.m. and again at 7 p.m.

A dinner of chicken cordon bleu and all the trimmings, prepared by chef Bryan Hilyer, will be served, then the cantata “Let There Be Light” will be sung by the choir and accompanied by a small orchestra featuring musicians from around Chilton County and beyond.

Greg Faulkner, minister of music at Clanton FUMC, will direct the program.

Faulkner said, “Of course, we hope our church family will come and enjoy the dinner and music, but we especially hope that people who don’t have a church home, as well as those from other churches in the area, will join us to hear the Good News in song.”

While the program is free and open to the public, tickets are required in order to reserve table space.

Tickets may be obtained at the church office or from any FUMC choir member.
