Dear Editor,

I would like to see an article, pictures or more on November being Native American month.

We have a lot of rich history locally and in our state. As a minority, we get little recognition.

You can get information from Indian Affairs in Montgomery or Web sites like the Echola Cherokee site.

It would be interesting to read about population, meetings, resources, etc., as an Echola Cherokee of the state of Alabama.

My 82-year-old mother has written and had published in books poetry about our people and their spirit.

African-American month, Swedish Fest, etc. get lots of recognition. Please, I have requested this for several years to a deaf ear.
