Students busy readers this summer

Thorsby Elementary students spent their summer vacation reading.
They participated in the Summer Reading Program by keeping a log of all the books that they read during the summer.
The participating students read more than 385 books.
They celebrated their accomplishment recently with a party and their choice of a book.
The school library opened one afternoon a week during the summer so that students were able to come to school and check out books.
The school will continue to offer the incentives for the students to increase their reading skills through books.
The participating students were:
Third grade, Doryssa Luther, Katie Mote, Kaylee Headley, Adi Argent, Sam Kendrick, Ashlyn Farler, Christian Fortner, Treylon Hayes, Tyler Jackson and Miceala Collum;
Second grade,  Perry Boulware, Meagan Manley, Morgan Giles, Kinley Copen, Greyson Wade, Morgan Champion, Zachary Jackson, Brylie Posey, Emily Mims, Kobe Cleckler, Madison Fulmer, Hannah Luther, Tate Kendrick, Abby Jennings and Hannah Grace Henry.
First grade, Mary Beth Porter, Gracey Chapman, McKinley Mims, Holly Jackson, Addie Cleckler, Laura Ann Hayes, Malyn Wade, Emily Jones and Anna Elizabeth Farris.
