Henry Strickland

Henry Fulmer Strickland, devoted husband, father and grandfather, went to be with his heavenly family on Oct. 24, 2009, at the age of 89.
He is joining his beloved wife of 64 years, Bobbie Rae Strickland, who passed away on Dec. 22, 2008.
Born on Jan. 1, 1920, in Blountsville, he was a son of the late Thomas Washington Henry and Ella Mae Foust Strickland. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and owned Strickland Store Fixtures and Strickland Hardware in Birmingham until relocating to Jemison in 1966.
Henry is survived by his children, Paul Strickland, Dean Fletcher, Bonnie Moulton (Jim), and Kim Kirsch (Patrick); grandchildren, Gary Strickland (Jill), Alan Strickland, Eric Moulton, Jennifer Williams (Jason), Ame Sexton (Chris), Angel Fletcher, Jessica Kirsch and Brian Kirsch; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Walter Strickland and sisters, Catherine Vaughn, Lois Strickland and Dicey Childers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Albert Strickland and Thomas (Tommy) Strickland and sisters, Juanita Harper and Jackie Love.
Visitation was Monday, Oct. 26, one hour prior to the service at Jemison First Baptist. Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. at Jemison First Baptist with the Rev. Bobby Hopper officiating. Interment was at Midway Gardens immediately following the service.
