Edith Hooks

Edith Louise Hooks, 82, of Clanton died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009 at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham.
She was born on Thursday, Aug. 25, 1927 in Randolph County, daughter of the late Guy Nichols and the late Myrtle Waldrop Nichols.
She was a beautician.
Surviving are her sister, Glenda Jackson of Jemison; sister-in-law, Belinda Nichols of Selma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Hooks; sister, Frances McGalliard; sister, Marie Alexander; brother, Murphy Nichols; brother, Gene Nichols; and brother, Charles Nichols.
Friends will be received beginning at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20 at Union Congregational Church.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Union Congregational with the Rev. Cary Waldrop and the Rev. Neal Hodo officiating.
Interment will follow in Union Congregational in Marbury.
