The Chilton County High volleyball team on Tuesday earned a berth in a regional tournament with a second-place finish in the Class 5A, Area 5 tournament.

The Tigers defeated Demopolis 3-1 (25-19, 23-25, 25-16, 25-17) but lost to host Carver-Montgomery 3-0 (13-25, 12-25, 13-25).

Carver will host the regional tournament at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity High School.

Rachel Johnston recorded six aces and three kills in two matches on Tuesday.

Lauren Stewart had six kills and two aces, and Renee Lewis contributed four aces, four kills and four assists.
