Phillip J. Jones, 58, of Clanton died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009 at UAB.
He was born on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 1950 in Chilton County, son of the late Aaron A. Jones and the late Fannie Smith Jones.
He was a carpenter.
Surviving are his wife, Mary S. Jones of Clanton; son, Gregory Dewayne Jones of Bessemer; daughter, Brandi Norred of Clanton; step-daughter, Michelle Powell of Clanton; six grandchildren; and sister, Faye Mims of Clanton.
He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Charlie and Forrest Jones and sister, Mary Jones.
Friends were received from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, Oct. 12, 2009 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.
Services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009 at 3 p.m. at Martin
Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donald Talley and the Rev. Donnie Messer officiating.
Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton.
