Audrey Evon Grant Griffin, 69, of Montgomery died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009 at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Montgomery.
She was born Friday, April 26, 1940 in Chilton County, daughter of the late Edward Franklin Grant and the late Sadie Brown Grant.
Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Jesse H. Griffin of Montgomery; three daughters, Paige Griffin Cowen (Bryan Cowen) of Chelsea, Stacey L. Griffin of Columbus, Ga. and Hayden Griffin Sebert (Frank Sebert) of Helena; grandchild, Kellen Cowen; four sisters, Jeannie Jones of Childersburg, Billie Jean Neeley of Verbena, Doris Driver of Verbena and Betty Ann Whitehurst of Montgomery; three brothers, Leslie Grant Sr. of Dallas, Ga., Frank Grant Jr. of Tampa, Fla., and Claxton Grant of New Castle, Del.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in her name be made to: UAB Liver Center, 1530 3rd Ave. S., MCLM 290, Birmingham, AL 35294, ATTN: Sheri McFall.
Family and friends will gather in the parlor at First Baptist Church, 305 South Perry St., Montgomery from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11.
A private graveside service for family will be at Mt. Creek Baptist Church Cemetery on Oct. 12 with the Rev. Jay Wolf, the Rev. James Green and Chaplain M. Thompson officiating.
