Monroe Terrell Ivy, 79, of Clanton died Friday, Oct. 2, 2009 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.
He was born Monday, June 16, 1930 in Quitman, Miss., son of the late Rufus Franklin Ivy and the late Ola Elizabeth Anderson.
He was a farmer.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Rosie Bell Hicks Ivy of Clanton; two sons, Rufus Monroe “Frankie” (Terry) Ivy of Clanton and James Franklin (Amy) Ivy of Clanton; grandchildren, Casey, Kerri, Ethan and Jackson Ivy; numerous nieces and nephews; sister, Lula Merle Miller of Dothan; and brother, J.W. Ivy of Gadsden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Franklin and Ola Elizabeth Ivy; brothers, Lamar Ivy, Donell Ivy, Rufus Junior Ivy and Colen Ivy; and sister, Pauline Ivey.
Services were held Monday, Oct. 5 at 3 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in Thorsby Memorial Cemetery.
