Julius Duke

Julius H. Duke, 82, of Clanton died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.
He was born Saturday, July 2, 1927 in Chilton County, son of the late G. Benjamin Duke and the late Teula Bell Murphy Duke.
He was a meat packer.
Surviving are his son, Kermitt Duke of Clanton; two daughters, Jeaneatta Easterling of Katy, Texas and Teresa Ann Peek of Stevensville; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and sister, Cenie Bell Thornton of Phenix City.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Mims Duke; and wife, Loree Esco Duke.
Friends will be received from 1-2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 4 at Martin Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, Oct. 4 at 3 p.m. at Bethel Primitive Baptist with the Rev. Greg Jones officiating. Martin Funeral Home directing.
