Verbena on Friday scored three touchdowns in the final quarter to pull away from Notasulga, 36-8.

The game was tied, 8-8, at halftime, and the Red Devils (2-1 overall, 1-1 region) led 14-8 after three quarters.

Dustin Short ran 31 times for 204 yards and two touchdowns. Kelley Lucas also had a strong game, rushing 28 times for 144 yards, two touchdowns, and two 2-point conversions.

The other Verbena touchdown came on a 15-yard pass from Brad Boswell to Christian Coston.

Bay Lucas had an outstanding game defensively, recording two interceptions and six tackles.
