Mrs. Johnsie L. Walker, 87, of Clanton departed this life Aug. 26, 2009, 1:30 a.m., at UAB Hospital.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Henry (Beulah) Walker of Hamilton, Ohio; Dorothy Browder of Clanton; Mattie (Coleman) Myers of Toledo, Ohio; Edward (Linda) Walker of Hamilton, Ohio; Ruth (John) Crafton of Augusta, SC; Willie (Cathy) Walker of Montgomery; Lorenza Walker of Clanton; Joseph Walker of Clanton; Odessa (Waymond) Walton of Prattville; two brothers, Frederick (Georgia) Knight of Hamilton, Ohio and the Rev. Dr. John H. Knight of Lansing, Mich.; four sisters, Ruby L. Gosha of Montgomery, Willie Pearl of Hamilton, Ohio, Alviona Freeman of Montgomery and Mollie B. (Willie) Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Regina Walker and Margaret Walker of Buffalo, NY; special aunt, Eula Palmore of Montgomery; goddaughter, Helen Sneed of Clanton; friend for over 60 years, Mrs. Mary Bell Williams of Clanton; special friend, Christine Stoudemire of Clanton; 48 grandchildren; 72 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her loving husband, Elga Walker Sr.; her parents, Willie and Mattie Knight; and two sons, Elga Walker Jr. and Lamar Walker.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Kincheon Road Church of God Cemetery. Agee Brothers Funeral Home directing.
