Gov. Bob Riley is schedule to tour the new Jemison Intermediate School today, Wednesday, Aug. 5.
The school’s construction should be completed by this coming October.
The school is being built with proceeds from a school construction bond Riley proposed and the Alabama Legislature approved in 2007.
This is the third new school built with bond money that Riley has visited the past few weeks. Earlier, he toured new schools in Birmingham and Madison.
According to previous reports, the new Jemison Intermediate school will house almost 30 classrooms, a computer lab, offices, a library/media center, a cafeteria with stage, restrooms for students and faculty/staff and a gym.
